Aisha - A Fairy Tale from the Arabian Gulf
Leseprobe aus Aisha:

When Aisha's father would find a great many pearls, he got so excited, he would take Aisha by the hand, jump into the waves to show her the secrets of diving and at the same time warning her of the dangers of the sea. Divers would sometimes be attacked by Sharks, Jelly fish and Barracudas. The divers also lived in continuous fear of lung infection which was a sickness many divers died of. Aisha knew of the dangers, but still wasn't afraid. She loved nothing more than the sea, with it's changing colours and different varieties of fish and coral. She simply could not see enough of the seas beauty. Aisha moved freely as Mantas circled and followed her. The giant Mantas floated like large birds in the sea. When the sun shone though the water, the little fish that were hiding in Aishas long black hair sparkled like brilliant gems. In crystal clear water Aishas biggest thrill was ridding on the backs of the Dolphins until she was tired.

The yellow Blow fish was always with her, protecting her. When he sensed danger, he'd pump himself into a ball and his spines would stand upright like spikes. He looked so funny, that Aisha had to laugh. Often from the blue depths of the sea. Sharks would appear. They would circle Aisha, without ever doing her harm. Aisha's remembered her father telling her that divers were seldom attacked by Sharks. "Sharks are not so aggressive like people seem to believe" he said. Nevertheless she wasn't so sure when a big shark swam close to her with it's cold looking eyes.
